CUE is a cool concept – it caters right to my demographic – young, culturally diverse, professional. Their recipe section, Cooking Class for the Lazy Ass, is also a fab concept since I wouldn’t mind preparing something that cleans up nicely once in a while.
I drop into Priti and Mariann’s hotel and pick them up – we went to a myriad of places that night but of note, we checked out Zaakushi for some great Japanese Yakitori, Lift Restaurant and Bar in Coal Harbour where we all shared a fab bottle of wine (2002 Black Hills Nota Bene) then we went off to Bar None for some dancin with Soulstream. I think I’m still recovering from that night.
Some clips from the evening:
The evening started out at Don’t Show the Elephant, we enjoyed some tea and decided the evening would be best experienced recovering.
I met up with Mariann and Priti late for dinner. We had thai in Yaletown and had a nice chat about the direction of CUE. Truly an interesting evening.
The highlight – Sekoya was scheduled to play the Railway and what a fun night! First, I invited a great group of people, Brady Dahmer (bradydahmer.com), Albert Liao (yutai.ca), Nitin (family friend from Calgary), Brenda Aurora (executivesearchdating.com), Frances Hui (socialempire.com), Josh Chicher (theofficejournal.com), plus the CUE girls all showed for the event. Green Tara played solo as the opener and I got a good amount of footage plus got to hang with the Freedom to Groove gang – the group that manages Sekoya.
