Kingston Taphouse and Grille

We’re on a roll.. it seems that I’m going to have a hard time getting events booked in the near future since we’re all booked until December.

We now have the following dates tenatively set for events:

  • October 6, Inferno, Evening Mixer
  • October 20, Buffalo Club, Speed Dating
  • October 28, Mo’ Butta, Social Empire
  • November 4, Media Club, Evening Mixer
  • November 17, Taylorwood Wines, Social Empire Wine Event
  • November 23, Pacific Crab Company, Social Empire
  • December 7, Kingston Taphouse & Grille, Social Empire

This week has been good – we have been able to finalize a number of events. Today was special, Ron MacGillivray of Kingston Taphouse & Grille which is owned by Spectra Group which also owns the Bread Gardens, etc. is a true gentleman. He was very accomadating and generous during our discussions. He even provided Frances and I a VIP guest card which entitles us to 10% off our meal and he even took care of our drinks.

Today I was thinking of popping by to see Chris at Villa Del Lupo for an xmas party – it seems like the fitting spot but perhaps we can do something during the early months of 2005.

As for the above schedule, we’re also working on Chambar. They’ll probably have to wait until January now which isn’t a bad thing – it’s a slow month so to have another event – perhaps the Social Empire 4th birthday party might sound fitting.

Incidentally, went for lunch today with Sandy Struss aka “Champion-of-the-Underdog!”. She’s a real charmer – very nice girl, very positive. I took her out to lunch at Relish – she had the Walnut Crusted Salmon, I had the Monte Cristo with Maple Syrup. We had a great conversation – know when you just click? Probably more her positive and outgoing personality than anything. I suspect that with the recent events in my life over the past few years, that I have alot to learn from her. I’m sure I’ll see her at our events soon too!

This evening, went for dinner with Michael Mustard of Eugen L. Klein’s office. We went over to Kintaro for some Tonkotsu Ramen (pork-based noodle soup). Eugen’s business has so much potential to grow and I’m looking forward to helping them get to the next level. I also hope to see Michael out at our events.

This evening was action-packed – somehow I wound up at Crush to see CB Shaw perform. Robin from Lord Photography and Jesus (Hey-Zeus as he pronounces it in typical South American style) from Shaw Television were there as well. It was like a reunion of sorts. I haven’t seen Jesus, CB and Robin in the same room for ever. Last time I caught a glimpse of CB, Jesus and Robin was at Jack’s Dining Lounge over a year ago. I also bumped into Mar and Eva, new friends, as well as Megan, the promo-girl from Crush. In discussion with Megan I was reminded about the wine event at Crush on the 27th. Craig Stowe should be helping the event get the people it needs (he also popped by Crush tonight… what a coincidence). Urban Mixer will be sponsoring the baloon pop as well which should be fun – I better go out and print some cards soon for the pop.

Anyhow, time to sleep.
